Lunchtimes / Menus
Hamilton Academy is pleased to be able to offer all pupils the opportunity to have a hot meal at lunchtime. It has been shown that a proper lunch helps children concentrate better in the afternoon and gives them the energy they need for their busy lives.
Menu Allergen Chart - for parents to support their children in making allergy conscious food choices from the hot meals menu.
From the normal menu, children are able to choose from the selection of one meat, one halal option and one vegetarian option.
The children choose on the day as making choices is part of enabling the children to become independent thinkers and learners.
Our menus are nutritionally balanced and run on a five week cycle.
Payment is via the cash less ParentMail system. ParentMail allows you to put money on your child’s account and then they can 'buy' a lunch.
ONLINE PAYMENTS IMPORTANT REMINDER
Remember, if you have an Android or Apple smartphone, we highly recommend that you download the free ParentMail App so that you can receive and respond to school communications, and make easy, online payments on the go. To do this, simply search for “ParentMail” in your APP store.
***FREE SCHOOL MEALS FOR INFANTS ***
As part of the Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) legislation, the children in Reception and Years 1 and 2 are able to have a free meal daily in term time. The government initially instigated this as a free service for the academic year 2014-15, and it has been continued. All children will be offered a meal – including a hot meal option - but parents have the choice not to participate by sending their child in with a packed lunch.
FREE SCHOOL MEALS AND PUPIL PREMIUM
For children whose parents are on a low income or on benefits the school strongly encourage you to also register for "Free School Meals" as this is the trigger for the additional Pupil Premium payment to the school from the government. These funds are a very important part of the income the school uses to enhance the children's learning. The process for applying is very simple. A form was sent to all new Reception students with the admissions pack and further copies are available from the Priory Road office, or click here.
